REAC MENAR Ratio

KPI Group: Accounting

What it Measures

This KPI is a calculation of the REAC MENAR Financial Ratio used in FASS. MENAR is an acronym for Months Expendable Net Assets Ratio and it measures a project’s ability to operate using its available, unrestricted net resources without relying on additional funding. It compares the net available unrestricted resources to the average monthly operating expenses and shows how many months of operating expenses can be covered with the currently available unrestricted resources.

When to Use it and Why

It is best to run this KPI daily or weekly if there are problems you want to monitor closely. If you do not have problem areas to monitor, the KPI should be run at least monthly in order to accurately track your agency’s ability to operate on net unrestricted resources without relying on additional funding.
